The Center for Social and Political Behavior at New York University will sponsor a limited number of graduate student conference travel awards in the winter, spring, and summer of 2015. Doctoral students who are enrolled and in good standing in the departments of psychology, politics, and sociology who will be presenting talks or papers (not posters) at national or international conferences are eligible to apply.
To apply, please send the author list, title, and abstract of your presentation along with notification of conference submission or acceptance (once you receive it) as well as an updated CV and the name and contact information of a faculty mentor at NYU to email@example.com. To facilitate planning, we will issue some provisional awards that are contingent upon conference acceptance.
For award recipients we will reimburse the following expenses, assuming that they are not covered by any other funding sources: conference registration fees, transportation receipts, and hotel or other accommodation charges up to a maximum of $1,000 for domestic and $1,500 for international travel. Please include a brief itemized budget with your application (mentioning other partial funding sources).
Preference will be given to students presenting papers with a strong emphasis on the study of social and political behavior; papers with an interdisciplinary focus are especially welcome. The application deadline for the next batch of awards will be March 29, 2015 (but we encourage early applications).
